Tipo-Tipo, Basilan — As part of its continued efforts to combat illegal recruitment, human trafficking, and irregular migration, the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) launched the Campaign Against Illegal Recruitment, Trafficking in Persons, and Irregular Migration (CAIRTIM) in the municipality of Tipo-Tipo, Basilan on June 17.

The advocacy event at the Tipo-Tipo Municipal Hall gathered barangay and municipal officials, students, and women’s group representatives for a seminar to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of illegal recruitment and trafficking.

Amna Farrah Alihuddin, head and Supervising Labor and Employment Officer of the MOLE Basilan Field Office, emphasized the importance of vigilance among residents. She urged participants to be attentive and cautious and to share the information they learn with their families and communities to help prevent exploitation by fraudulent recruiters.

Participants were also allowed to ask questions and share their personal experiences related to employment and migration in the region.

MOLE-BARMM said the CAIRTIM campaign in Tipo-Tipo reflects the ministry’s commitment—under the leadership of Minister Muslimin Sema—to uphold the rights and dignity of every Bangsamoro worker, whether at home or abroad.

The initiative is part of MOLE-BARMM’s mission to empower communities and protect vulnerable populations through education and proactive governance.
