Bangsamoro Autonomous Region — Authorities have apprehended a 32-year-old woman identified as alias "Myrna" after serving the Warrant of Arrest issued against her for violating Republic Act No. 10168, also known as the Terrorism Financing Prevention Act of 2012 (TF Suppression Act).
A court in Zamboanga City issued the Arrest Warrant without recommended bail.
The arrest transpired today in Barangay Pasil, Indanan, Sulu, by the combined force of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), and Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission.
Alias "Myrna" is considered the Top 1 Most Wanted in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). According to the Police Regional Office - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PNP PRO BAR) she allegedly has connections with the Daulah Islamiya, Abu Sayyaf Group, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant or ISIL.
The PNP PRO BAR report reveals that alias "Myrna" is allegedly the widow of Malaysian terrorist Muhammad Najib bin Hussien, alias Abu Anas, who is a member of ISIL and purportedly introduced ISIL in the Philippines.
According to PRO BAR, alias "Myrna" was also declared by the United States Defense as a specially designated global terrorist, along with ISIL founder Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, and DI-ASG (Daulah Islamiya-Abu Sayyaf Group) and Emir of IS-Philippines, Isnilon Hapilon.
In 2016, she allegedly served as an intermediary between Hapilon and ISIL elements in the Syrian Arab Republic, as stated by PRO BAR.
Alias "Myrna" is currently under the custody of CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) Zamboanga CFU (City Field Unit) for proper disposition.
