Manila — The 4Ps National Program Management Office (NPMO) is working on recommendations to amend Republic Act No. 11310, also known as the 4Ps Law.
These recommendations aim to include provisions penalizing loan sharks and the pawning of cash cards. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reminds all 4Ps beneficiaries to cease any engagement with loan sharks or the pawning of their cash cards.
According to 4Ps NPMO Director Gemma Gabuya, in a report from Radyo Pilipinas, beneficiaries who are proven to have pawned their cash cards may face removal from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps roster.
The DSWD also conducts spot checks during family development sessions, and beneficiaries must bring their ATM cards for verification.
The 4Ps NPMO strives to implement the necessary amendments to protect the program's integrity and beneficiaries' welfare.
