Cotabato Province — Known by the alias "Editha," a 70-year-old woman who is a farmer residing in Amas, Kidapawan City, was apprehended by authorities for the crime of carnapping. She's listed as Top 9 Most Wanted in Region 12.
The arrest transpired on Wednesday, February 7, along Quezon Boulevard, Barangay Poblacion, Kidapawan City. Alias "Editha" is facing charges under R.A. 6539, As Amended By R.A. 10883, also known as the "New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016."
According to the warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 17, Kidapawan City, on August 9, 2023, under Criminal Case No. 7999-2023, no recommended bail was allowed.
Alias "Editha" is currently under the custody of Kidapawan City Police Station for proper disposition.
The operation was conducted by the Highway Patrol Group, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Kidapawan City Police Station, and Naval Intelligence Security Group-Eastern Mindanao (NISG-EM).
