Manila —The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), in collaboration with other government agencies, is currently looking into reports of an alleged recruitment scheme targeting Filipino soldiers by a suspected Chinese company. This report shared by Radyo Pilipinas.
According to AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, the military is also investigating whether these entities have recruited former and current AFP personnel.
Col. Padilla further stated that the social media page where job opportunities for military-experienced individuals were advertised had been taken down. However, they managed to secure screenshots of the online application attempts.
It can be recalled that the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) previously revealed that the suspected Chinese companies, disguising themselves as American or European enterprises, were allegedly gathering active and former members of the Philippine military.
These companies purportedly offer their recruits part-time positions as online analysts.
