CIDG RFU BAR Nabs Police Officer, MILF Task Force Ittihad Member in an Entrapment Operation in Cotabato City for Unlawful Sale of Firearms and Ammunition

Cotabato City — A police officer and a member of the MILF Task Force Ittihad were arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit BAR (CIDG RFU BAR).



The operation transpired in Sausa Street, Rosary Heights 1, Cotabato City where the suspects were caught engaging in the illegal sale of firearms and ammunition at approximately 2:30 PM today.



According to the CIDG RFU BAR, the police officer is a 40-year-old Master Sergeant assigned at a police station in Maguindanao del Norte. Meanwhile, the captured member of the MILF Task Force is based at the Headquarters Inner Guard Base Command, Camp Darapanan, Simuay, Maguindanao del Norte.


Both individuals are residents of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.


The CIDG RFU BAR confiscated from the operation were four (4) high-caliber firearms, two (2) of which have an AFP mark (Armed Forces of the Philippines), ammunition, assorted identification cards, cellphones, uniforms, and SUV.


The arrested suspects and the seized evidence were promptly taken to the CIDG Maguindanao PFU Office for appropriate documentation and proper disposition.


Charges for violating Section 32 of RA 10591, also known as the Unlawful Sale of Firearms and Ammunition, will be filed against them.


During the operation, the CIDG RFU BAR utilized two alternative recording devices identified as DMT20X-454265 (ARD 1) BOBLOV and RFUBAR2023014 (ARD 2) BOBLOV.


CIDG RFU BAR's successful operation was carried out in collaboration with CIDG RSOT and the Police Intelligence Unit, Maguindanao Del Norte PPO, PRO BAR, and Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO).
