Maguindanao del Sur - A resident of Barangay Kabinge, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, identified as "Guiadzali," was apprehended after being found in possession of a caliber .45 pistol, two (2) hand grenades, and ammunition during a casing and surveillance operation conducted by CIDG RFU BAR at around 2 o'clock this afternoon.
According to CIDG, "Guiadzali" violated Republic Act 10591, also known as the "Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act," and Republic Act 9516, which pertains to the illegal or unlawful possession of explosives.
The Barangay Captain of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Bai Nadia Abdulkarim, witnessed the inventory of the seized evidence.
The arrested person was informed of the cause of his arrest and subsequently apprised of his constitutional rights and rights under RA 9745, the Anti-Torture Act of 2009, in a language known to him and understood.
He was then brought to Maguindanao PFU, together with the confiscated pieces of evidence, for documentation and proper disposition.
