Cotabato City LGU Implements EO No. 119 to Fight Smuggled Cigarettes: Anti-Cigarette Smuggling Task Force Formed

Cotabato City —The local government has issued Executive Order No. 119 to address smuggled cigarettes within Cotabato City.


Under this order, the sale, distribution, and trade of contraband cigarettes are strictly prohibited.


An Anti-Cigarette Smuggling Task Force is also established to enforce these measures.


Led by Cotabato City Mayor Bruce Matabalao, the Task Force includes the city administrator as vice chairperson and the City Business Permit and Licensing Officer as the Action Officer.

Other key members consist of representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the secretary to the mayor, the barangay league president, the city legal officer, the city health officer, the city public safety officer, the city investment and promotion officer, the city information officer, and the city planning and development officer.
