Manila — Bohol 3rd District Rep. Kristine Alexie Tutor and Laguna Rep. Marlyn Alonte filed House Bills 9913 and 9914, respectively, to alleviate the workload of teachers by removing administrative and healthcare functions, according to a report by Radyo Pilipinas.
The proposed legislation covers teachers working in both private and public schools, from K-12 to higher education and public and private basic education.
Rep. Alonte stated that it is high time for teachers who have long been overloaded with work to have a balanced lifestyle.
On the other hand, Rep. Tutor emphasized that these measures will address academic overload and lead to healthier and safer school work environments.
