Tawi-Tawi — For residents of Tawi-Tawi, there is no longer a need to travel to Zamboanga City to obtain copies of their civil registry documents following the opening of the first-ever provincial outlet of the Civil Registry System (CRS) in Bongao.

The newly opened provincial Civil Registry System outlet of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is now accessible to the public situated in Barangay Simandagit, Bongao Municipality

National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Claire Dennis Mapa, PSA BARMM OIC-Regional Director Akan Tula, and Vice Governor Al-Syed Sali led the inauguration ceremony.

Aside from enabling a faster process, this development also brings financial relief to the residents, as they will no longer have to incur substantial travel expenses to Zamboanga City.

The BARMM government said this marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of efficient and accessible civil registration services in the region.
