Manila —The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has once again recorded an acceleration in inflation, representing the movement of prices of goods and services in the country for the month of March 2024.

According to the PSA National Statistician and Usec. Dennis Mapa, in a report shared by Radyo Pilipinas, inflation for March reached 3.7%, higher than the 3.4% inflation rate observed in February.

As a result, the average inflation rate from January to March now stands at 3.3%.

This trend is driven by the rapid increase in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages including onions and chicken meat, as well as in transport costs such as gasoline and diesel.

Apart from the National Capital Region (NCR), 11 regions also experienced higher inflation rates in March, including regions 1, 2, 4a, MIMAROPA, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, and 13.
