The Senate has ratified the Bicameral Conference Committee version of the "Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Bill," which aims to raise the teaching allowance of public school teachers from ₱5,000 to ₱10,000.
This development, as reported by Radyo Pilipinas, brings good news to teachers who have long awaited this proposal, according to Senate Committee on Civil Service Chairman Senator Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr.
Senator Revilla highlighted the disparity between the significant allocation mandated for the education sector in the constitution and the teachers' continuous struggle with insufficient income compared to their duties and responsibilities.
Senator Revilla said the approved measure acknowledges the vital role of teachers in shaping the youth.
