Cotabato City, Philippines (July 2, 2025) — In an official statement released by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua expressed profound gratitude to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its unwavering support and recognition of the Bangsamoro people’s welfare and development.

According to Macacua, despite the complex and wide-ranging challenges facing the global Muslim Ummah, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)'s continued attention and support toward fostering lasting peace and inclusive development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has been significant.
This, following the discussion of the region’s peace-building efforts during the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, from June 21 to 22, 2025, on the theme “OIC in a Transforming World”.
The BARMM government said this continued inclusion reflects the OIC’s long-standing support for the Bangsamoro cause. It affirms its vital role as a partner in the region’s pursuit of self-determination and sustainable development.
In the same statement, the Bangsamoro government reiterated its commitment to upholding and embodying the OIC's principles and ideals in its governance, which aim to build a just and peaceful world.
The regional government also hoped that the Bangsamoro’s ongoing efforts toward peace and stability would inspire other people worldwide striving for liberation and dignity.
