Parang, Maguindanao del Norte | July 3, 2025 — Local officials from the municipalities of Parang, Matanog, Buldon, and Barira gathered on Thursday, July 3, at the Iranun Palace in Parang for a strategic meeting organized by the Iranun Corridor Development Council.

The meeting, chaired by Parang Mayor Cahar Ibay, was held to strengthen collaboration among Iranun municipalities and align local development plans with regional priorities. Representatives from the Bangsamoro Economic Zone Authority (BEZA), including Executive Director Atty. Sukarno Abas and Malaysian development consultant Dato Jack Yap, and technical staff from participating local government units also joined the discussions.
The forum focused on developing unified strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth within the Iranun Corridor—a cluster of municipalities within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with strong cultural ties and shared development goals.
Topics included inter-LGU coordination, infrastructure planning, investment readiness, and potential entry points for economic zone development under BEZA’s guidance.
Council members expressed a shared commitment to working collectively to accelerate progress across their communities, emphasizing the value of regular consultation, transparency, and strategic partnerships.
The meeting concluded with action points aimed at sustaining momentum through collaborative planning and localized implementation of development programs.
