Manila —Eight (8) areas in the country are expected to encounter hotter temperatures and reach the 'danger level' of the heat index this Wednesday.
Cotabato City is among the areas that will experience a heat index ranging from 42 to 43°C today. The highest heat index is anticipated in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, reaching up to 44°C, according to a report from Radyo Pilipinas.
Other areas are forecasted to experience a heat index of 42-43°C, including Bacnotan, La Union; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Palawan; Roxas City, Capiz; Guian, and Eastern Samar.
When the heat index reaches the 'danger level,' prolonged exposure to the sun may result in heat cramps and heat exhaustion for individuals.
In Metro Manila, temperatures may also rise to 40-41°C, warranting extreme caution for residents.
