Manila —The leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, has been cited in contempt for his continued absence at the hearing conducted by the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality chaired by Senator Risa Hontiveros. The committee has appealed to Senate President Senator Miguel Zubiri to authorize the arrest of Pastor Quiboloy.
The committee delved into allegations of abuse by Quiboloy against members of the KOJC under Senate Resolution No. 884, entitled "Inquiry into the Reported Cases of KOJC Leader Apollo Quiboloy."
Senator Robin Padilla expressed his disagreement with the ruling of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality.
In response to Senator Padilla's objection, committee chairperson Senator Risa Hontiveros stated that the committee's decision may be reversed within seven days if the majority of the committee members agreed with Senator Padilla's opposition.
