Upi, Sultan Kudarat Contingents Shine at Hinugyaw Festival Street Dance Competition in Koronadal

Koronadal City, South Cotabato —Contingents from Upi and Sultan Kudarat brought pride and recognition to Maguindanao del Norte after securing major wins at the annual Hinugyaw Festival Street Dance Competition held in Koronadal City.

In a congratulatory message, the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Norte commended the participating groups for their outstanding performances, noting that they not only showcased artistic excellence but also elevated the province’s name on a regional stage during Hinugyaw Festival 2026.

Saint Francis Episcopal School of Upi Inc., Performing Arts Guild from Upi, bagged the championship title. The group also swept major special awards, including Best Production Design, Best in Street Dance, and Best Musicality, underscoring its strength in concept, movement, and musical interpretation.

Finishing as Second Runner-Up, the Sultan Kudarat Performing Arts Ensemble impressed judges with disciplined execution, intense choreography, and a deep respect for local culture.

The provincial government lauded the dancers, choreographers, musicians, and behind-the-scenes supporters whose collective effort helped make the performance a success.
